My recent trip to Vietnam was more than just a trip. It became an experience filled with beautiful places, new memories, unexpected challenges, and many lesson about people and about myself.

There were moments when a lot of drama happened. There were times when I felt left out. But looking back, I realized that even the difficult moments had something to teach me.

1 I realized the importance of doing my research.

Before traveling, I need to take time to learn about the country, its culture, traditions, and the best places to visit. Understanding where I am going allows me to appreciate the experience on a deeper level.

2. I realized that I always need to be prepared.

I learned the importance of pocket money and extra money for unexpected expenses or emergencies. Anything can happen when traveling, and being prepared can give me peace of mind.

3. I realized that I need to be professional.

When I am the facilitator of a group, I have a responsibility to remain professional, even when situations become challenging. I may have my own emotions and frustrations, But I still need to do my role and handle situations with maturity.

4. I realized that not every attitude is my fault.

There were moments when I felt left out, and naturally, I wondered if I had done something wrong. But I realized that I cannot control how other people behave or how they choose to treat me.

Sometimes, their attitude is about them – not me. I can acknowledge how I feel without carrying someone else’s behavior on my shoulders.

5. I realized how important to surround myself with people who empower me.

I want to surround myself with people who encourage me, support me, and genuinely want to see me grow. I realized that the right people should make me feel valued and bring out the best in me, not constantly make me question my worth.

6. I realized that I need to journal everything.

I want to write about the places I visit, the people I meet, the food I try, the conversations, the funny moments, the difficult moments, and especially the emotions I experience.

One day, these little details may become some of my precious moments.

7. I realized that I need to distance myself from disrespect.

I don’t have to fight every battle. I don’t have to respond to every attitude.

Sometimes, creating distance is the healthiest way to protect my peace ad maintain my dignity.

8. I realized that I should always remain humble.

No matter how difficult a situation becomes I will choose humility.

I don’t always have to explain myself or prove my side. God sees everything – even the things people don’t see.

9. I realized that whenever I feel lost, I will always remember my values and let them guide me.

When I feel confused or unsure of myself, I always go back to my values.

I remember who I am and what I stand for. I Don’t allow someone else’s behavior to change the kind of person I am.

10. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel.

Despite everything – I am grateful. I got to experience Vietnam and create memories.

And to the people who were there for me..

I appreciate my mentors and my friend,Nes, who joined me on this tour.

Thank you for your frankness, honesty and sincerity. I admire your character and the courage to tell me the truth, even when it may not always be easy to hear.

Your honesty helped me reflect, learn, and see things from different perspective.

My biggest realization

Not every trip will be perfect.

I can be surrounded by people and still feel alone. I can give my best and still unappreciated. I can be responsible for creating good experience for others, while quietly dealing with my emotions.

But that’s okay.

I cannot control how people treat me. But I can only control how I respond and how I carry myself.

Vietnam reminded me to be prepared, professional, humble, grateful, and protective of my peace.

And perhaps, that’s one of the greatest gifts of travel- not just the memories of the places I have been, but the lessons that help me understand who I am and who I am becoming.
