Some weeks are silence.

I let the moments drift,

The day is soft and dark, but the air is kind.

Birds burst into song left and right,

promising me that the future will be lighter and brighter.

Wearing my favorite knitted purple cardigan,

Settling into my favorite chair,

I sip my ginger tea- a real warmth for cool morning,

awaiting a gift of lemon loaf.

Let the stories unfold-

they may be sweet, bitter, or a blend of bittersweet.

The harvest approaches-

a journey marked by sweat, tears and anticipation.

I am indulging myself,

watching the leaves shift from vibrant hues to deep earth tones…

my favorite season.

I see the squash and pumpkins, a burst of color

that gives joy to my melancholic heart.

It is a time for me to find peace, recharge,

and prepare for the next great leap.
