When was the last time you truly communicated with God? Or when did He call you, and you immediately answered His call?

Lately, I’ve been so busy juggling work and other activities that I almost forgot the most important thing in my life – my relationship with God. That was until a dream came to me yesteday.

I realized I had almost forgotten to read the most important book and meditate upon it – The Bible. His call is calm and gentle telling me, ” I am here, speaking to you.”

My response was filled with guilt because I hadn’t read it for a while I even said , “God, what do you want me to do? I’m so sorry.” And yes, I admit – I’ve been binge -watching instead of binge -praying!

But his call is patient and loving, reminding me that it’s never to late to return. In response to His gentle call, I offer this prayer:

Dear God,

I’m sorry I’ve been distant lately. Life got busy, and I forgot to spend time with You and Your Word. Thank you for patiently calling me back with Your gentle voice. Guide me as I return to reading the Bible. Renew my spirit and remind me of your love everyday. I want to listen and walk with You more closely.

Thank you for never giving up on me.

Amen.

This prayer is my way of renewing my commitment to listen and respond whenever He calls.
